You get what you pay for – or maybe you don’t
In this business, there is always someone who will quote you a cheap price. And very often, but not always, that cheap price will get you a truck. But it will be a cheap truck, because you are getting it for a cheap price.
And more times than not, that cheap truck will get your shipment to its destination, on time and intact, exactly as promised.
But now the tricky part: because that truck is a cheap truck, there is an elevated risk, higher than normal, that there will be a hiccup along the way. So your shipment won’t get to its destination, on time and intact. This can happen with any truck, but because you have chosen a cheap truck for a cheap price, these problems are more likely to happen with your
And because you chose a truck with a cheap price, the person who gave you the cheap price may also be ill-equipped to deal with your hiccup, and may also not even care.
You are left holding the bag. And you are embarrassed and your customer is angry because you didn’t get your shipment to them on time and intact. And nobody gives you any credit at all for finding a cheap price for (not) moving your freight.
But you do get what you pay for – life’s like that.
