Zero Fuel Surcharge / Zero Border Crossing Fee / Zero Paperwork Fee / … If you insist
Copper Run does not charge surcharges.
When you buy a car, do you and the dealer agree on the price, and they when you go to pay you find they want extra money for the steering wheel? No. Everybody knows that a necessary part of a car is a steering wheel as standard equipment: in fact, a quick bit of research will confirm that a steering wheel is required by law.
So why do freight transportation companies give you a price for a trans-border shipment that does not include the costs of crossing the border? Everybody knows that a necessary part of crossing the border is filing paperwork: in fact, a quick bit of research will confirm that paperwork / information filing of some type is required by law.
So, Copper Run does not charge surcharges (or accessorial fees, or extra charges by any other name) for expenses we know upfront will be incurred in the provision of the service being quoted.
Among the charges we don’t charge are fuel, border crossing, and paperwork.
But…. We know that some accounting software packages require a fuel surcharge entry, and some won’t even take zero dollars for a price. So if you need it, we’ll dummy up some charges that won’t add to the total quoted price, but will keep your computer happy.
